Well, this is all very nice, isn't it? I just got back from what turned out to be an Up All Night party at my friend Courtney's house. That's right. I slept for maybe and hour at most. Right now I'm supposed to be asleep, but I can't fall back asleep! I'm feeling really miserable, though, because I feel sleepy, weak, and my joints ache, so I feel old. But whatever, I had the best time on Friday.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is finally out, and I was one of the first to get a copy! I went to my local Barnes and Noble Midnight Madness Party. Everyone had to get a ticket to get a book. I felt smart for pre-ordering because those who didn't (or couldn't, in Briana's case) had to practically fight to get a blue ticket (pre-ordered tickets were red), which guaranteed them a book. Then we got "sorted," complete with a costume witch hat that actually talked in your ear. I was in Gryffindor!! I was the only one out of the five good friends of mine there that got into the house I wanted.

They had stuff like face-painting (I got a glittering gold lighting-bolt scar on my forehead, how original), make-your-own-wand, make-your-own-invisibility-cloak (both things I did not do), and a "picture with Harry," which I did do. I thought it was going to be someone dressed as Harry and, if so, my friends dared me to sit on his lap, but it was really a cardboard cutout of Harry from the cover of Book Five.

But hey, I got to watch a Wizard Duel, sort of. It was between Snape and Lockhart and right out of Book Two. They both did very good jobs acting, especially Lockhart because he had to act like he was being affected by all these different spell, like the Tickling Spell and the Dancing Spell, so yeah.

But I got my book!!! My beautiful, blue book!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE IT!!! The only sad thing is that once I'm through with this book, how long will it be before the next one comes out? Seriously, if J.K. Rowling is supposed to have it all planned out already, and has even written the epilogue, couldn't she write a little faster??????????

Started Summer School on Monday. It really isn't so bad. My only complaint is that Mr. Rattay, my teacher, is a football coach and ex-drill sergeant, so he makes jokes about answering his requests with "Sir, yes sir!" and stuff. He thinks it's funny, but he's the only one laughing. He has a very unfunny sense of humor. My only other complaint is all the work we have to do. Yes, I know that we're supposed to be covering a week per day, but really. I have to answer 75-question worksheets, a chapter review, and write a five-paragraph essay EVERY DAY!! And this is only Health Class!!! Thank God I opted for this instead of Geometry.

But other than that....My heart is broken! (Well, at least it's dented.) I just got my latest issue of Teen Vogue, in which they have an interview with Kate Bosworth of Blue Crush fame. Apparently she's dating Orlando Bloom, the love of my life!!! (Well, sort of.) I guess it's pretty stupid of me to think that he'd stay single forever, but really! Grr, baby. Very grr.

I went to go see Finding Nemo yesterday. Let me tell you, it was PACKED! I went with my lil' sis and her friend (sad, I know.) Once we got our popcorn and drinks and stuff, we went to our theater (number 7), and were very surprised to see a line outside of it! I couldn't believe it. A line just to get inside the theater? To actually sit down? Things like that strike me as totally bogus.

It was an EXCELLENT movie, though. I won't discuss the plot or anything here, because 1) I don't want to give anything away, and 2) I'm too lazy, you can look it up yourself. ^_^ The only down side about going to a Disney movie on its opening day is all the freakin' kids there that would not shut up for the life of them. I know annoying kids are something to be expected at basically any animated movie, but it'd been a while since I'd seen one in theaters, so I guess I just forgot.

As for some not-so-happy news, Orion died. We're not sure why, since he seemed to be doing so well, but I personally think it was because my mom bathed him twice in the kitchen sink, then put him back in his cage while he was still wet - and the air conditioner was still on. I'm sorry, but it's, like, an act of suicide if you don't keep your air conditioner on in Arizona at least during the day, so I guess we should have dried him off first. Poor guy.

Right now it's really late/early, and my sister has her friends Shanise and Kierra over here, so that's why I've couped myself up with the computer. It's a lot better than my room because my sister's room, where they usually hang out, and the guest room, which they sleep in, are really close to my own room, and they're SO LOUD!!!!! Whenever Elizabeth's friends come over, they all go wild, and I end up asking my mom if I was ever that bad when I was 12. Luckily, I never was.

Joy, joy, I'm SO HAPPY today because I finished Chapter One of my Harry Potter fanfic last night! I'd actually been typing that thing since, like, January, but never finished because I was either too busy, felt uninspired, or just didn't feel like it. Luckily, with summer vacation and all, I now have a lot more time to do things like that. Plus I'm feeling more inspired for some reason, so...yeah.

I'm currently working on Chapter Two right now, which, I must say, is coming along quite nicely. And I'm typing a lot faster, which is good, obviously.

Crap, it is REALLY hot over here! But then again, what do you expect, living in Arizona and it being summer and all? Really, Arizona's okay, even though I like California a lot better. But it's times like this that I really wish that we hadn't moved at all.

Well, I have my fanfic and my books to comfort me. When I went to Target on Memorial Day, I bought a load of new books: The Princess Diaries, Princess in Love, and Princess in Waiting, all part of the Princess Diaries series. I'd read the first in the series, but the only one I've ever owned is the second one, Princess in the Spotlight. It's kind of weird, though, since I have the first three in paperback and the fourth, which I'm currently reading, in hardcover. I also bought The Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants, which I've been wanting to read for quite some time. I've heard that it's really good. My copy is in hardcover, too, although I think it comes in paperback now. Oh well, if so, they didn't have that at Target, and I'm not cheap when it comes to my books!!

God, I'm such a nerd.

Well, isn't this nice? I write two entries in my brand-new blog, and then I have to go and delete them both so that I can create this new blog here. I figured I'd start using Blogger again because I'd used it before...it just conked out on me for a while.

So, just to catch up on what's going on....School is over, thank GOD. I didn't think I could stand it anymore. However, with each passing day, summer school draws nearer, and even though I'm only taking Health to get it out of the way, that doesn't mean that I'd rather spend those few hours doing something more...interesting. Fun. Whatever.

On Memorial Day, my mom found a little baby bird outside in our backyard, on our lawn table. She "rescued" him, and we bought him a cage and everything, and are currently trying to take care of him. We talked to some people at Petco, who told us to buy this certain type of bird food, mix it with water, and feed it to Orion with an eyedropper. That's what we've been doing, and it seems to be working, seeing as the little bird is much more energized.

Actually, I guess I shouldn't refer to Orion as "little." He's a baby, all right, but he's as big as a full grown canary, if not bigger. The exact name of his species escapes me right now, but it's some kind of native desert bird that lives out here in Arizona. In fact, he's squeaking for his food right now, so I'd better go feed him. :P
